Walid Shammas
Head of Medical and Regulatory Affairs, Canada
Walid Shammas joined Ipsen Canada in 2021, bringing more than 20 years of experience both practicing as an MD and in progressive roles in the Canadian pharmaceutical industry. As Head of Medical and Regulatory Affairs, Walid will oversee development of medical and regulatory strategies and implementation of key activities related to all of our therapeutic indications for marketed and investigational products in Canada.
Before joining Ipsen, Walid served as VP Scientific Affairs at Purdue Canada as well as in leadership roles with Ferring Canada and Baxalta/Shire Canada. Earlier in his career he was a Medical Science Liaison and Clinical Research Associate.
Walid received his MD from Kaunas University of Medicine in Kaunas, Lithuania and was licensed by the USA Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG).
