Meet Ipsen in Canada

Ipsen seeks to advance scientific and medical knowledge by providing funding to support medical research, public policy research and continuing professional education. We may also provide financial support for training or any project that could enhance patient outcomes or relates to patient or community education or community projects that promote better health care.

We are interested in providing grant funding within our therapeutic areas: oncology, neurosciences, and rare disease. This includes acromegaly, neuroendocrine tumors, carcinoid syndrome, pancreatic cancer, renal cancer, liver cancer, neuromuscular and movement disorders, severe primary IGF-1 deficiency (SPIGFD) and fibrodysplasia ossificans progressiva (FOP). Ipsen has a preference for programs that are supported by multiple organizations.

Grant requests may come from academic institutions, provincial or national medical associations or societies, disease foundations and associations, patient organizations or other registered medical education providers.

Grants will not be given to individuals. Ipsen does not fund noneducational expenses, nor does Ipsen retroactively fund initiatives (only prospective initiatives). Grants are not provided for promotional purposes.

Ipsen supports independent research relating to our disease areas of interest to advance research and enhance disease understanding.

Investigator Sponsored Studies (ISS) investigators and/or their affiliated institutions take responsibility for the study as the Sponsor. The obligations of a sponsor-investigator include both those of a sponsor and those of an investigator. This means taking responsibility for all aspect of the study, including study:

• Design
• Regulatory approval
• Initiation
• Conduct
• Monitoring
• Reporting of safety data
• Analysis and publication of the results

Your ISS proposal will be reviewed by the Ipsen Medical Affairs Review Board for scientific merit as well as safety, legal, ethical and budgetary considerations. Support for endorsed proposals may be provided in the form of financial support and/or study drug supply pursuant to a written agreement which requires that you – as sponsor – comply with applicable local laws, rules, guidelines and regulations.

Ipsen provides donations to registered charitable or not-for-profit organizations located in  Canada that are aligned with our company social responsibility priorities and focus on 1) health and social service initiatives aimed at improving patients’ lives, especially in the areas of oncology, neuroscience and rare disease; 2) science, technology, engineering and mathematics, or STEM, education programs; 3) environmental sustainability; and 4) initiatives that aim to strengthen and address critical needs in communities where our employees live and work.

Donation requests are reviewed and evaluated by Ipsen’s Grants and Donations Review Committee, which meets quarterly or as needed.

Approval of donations are never related to or conditioned upon past prescriptions or purchases of Ipsen products. Ipsen does not offer or provide donations to encourage or to reward the prescription, purchase, order or recommendation of Ipsen products. Donations are not provided for promotional purposes.
